- Myth – some children just do not need very much sleep. In reality, children up to the age of 18 should get at least 8 ½ hours of sleep each night in order to function at their best. - Myth – sleeping late on the weekends will make up for lost sleep. Allowing your children to sleep-in during the weekends to “make up” for lost sleep will make it much harder to get back into a regular routine when Monday morning rolls around.
- Myth – not getting enough sleep will not have harmful effects in the long run.
